Bats of Puerto Rico

Gannon (biology, Penn State U.), Kurta (biology, Eastern Michigan U.), Rodriquez-Durán (natural sciences, Inter-American U. of Puerto Rico), Willig (biological sciences, Texas Tech U.) synthesize the available information about the ecology, behavior, and natural history of the bats of Puerto Rico, which represent the island's only living species of native mammals. They introduce the ecosystems of Puerto Rico and general biological and ecological facts about bats. They then provide family and species accounts of the 13 species of bats found on Puerto Rico and surrounding islands.
